The computer.net home page is under construction. We hope to bring you a brand new page in the coming months. In the meantime, a great starting page for Westchester residents can be found at Westchester.com. Please check the page out and bookmark it. When the new page is ready we will send you an e-mail :) We have many exciting changes coming in the months ahead. Please stay tuned.

If you have used Computer.Net WEBMAIL within the last 6 months, please read the following very carefully.

The previous WebMail system was very old and had to be taken out of service to make way for a brand new state-of-the-art system. The new WebMail system is very advanced and not compatible with the current system. What does this mean to users?

PLEASE READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY!!

If your e-mail address is like username@email.computer.net , these were free accounts given by computer.net many years ago. These accounts are no longer available due to a server crash on June 8, 2008. We notified users here on May 13, 2008 that accounts would be shut down on June 1, 2008 and later extended the deadline to June 18, 2008. Unfortunately the server only lasted until June 8, 2008 :( Sorry for any inconvenience.

If you had an e-mail address like username@email.computer.net and would like to purchase a new e-mail account from us, current paying customer may do so for $5/mo. If you are not a computer.net customer, e-mail accounts are $10/mo. Again, e-mail addresses like username@email.computer.net are no longer available.

If your e-mail address is bjfuerst@mail.computer.net , please click here and login with the USERID being bjfuerst@mail2.computer.net and the PASSWORD being your password.

If your e-mail address is like username@taxprof.com , username@aiany.org or username@underweiser.com , please click here and login with the USERID being your complete e-mail address and the PASSWORD being your password.

If your e-mail address is ken@computer.net , please follow the instructions directly below this but instead of logging in with the username ken, you would login with the user name kencn. You will still send and receive e-mail using ken@computer.net so don't worry about the different login name.

If your e-mail address is like username@computer.net , please click here and login with the UserID being only your username (The part before the @ sign) and your computer.net password. This is the new server and it is available immediately. Email will be checked when you login, every 10 minutes automatically, and whenever you click the POP3 button on the menu bar.

Please note: The new WebMail system was set to check e-mail automatically at 5:50am. This caused a problem for users that use both WebMail and outlook or some other e-mail client including the old WebMail system. This setting has now been changed to never automatically check for new messages unless the user is logged into the new system. So, if you were missing messages around Mother's day, please login to the new WebMail system by following the instructions above. Your missing e-mails will be waiting for you there.

Please also note: On June 3, 2008 we sent everyone an e-mail stating that we would extend the use of the old WebMail system for another 2 weeks making the shutdown date June 18, 2008. The old hard drive didn't make it that far. I'm sure you're aware that on June 7, 2008 we started to experience problems. We worked all weekend to try and get the system back but it was too far gone. We hope everyone has moved to the new system and you are all enjoying it. This is the first of many steps being taken to improve service in the coming months.

The message above has been revised as of June 9, 2008. Please re-read it for the latest.
